Open Hearts Food Pantry
Our food pantry serves Minidoka and Cassia County. We are supported by our congregation’s donations and donations from other churches, businesses and individuals.
Food boxes are distributed on:
Mondays (except holidays) and Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Our criterion for receiving a box:
- One box per month per family
- It would be helpful for you to bring a medium sized box
We receive ‘at date’ produce, dairy, and bread from Ridley’s Market every Monday and every other Wednesday. Families can come back as often as they need during the month to receive these items.
People 60 yrs and older may apply to receive a monthly USDA commodity box, in addition to our regular box.
We recognizes that it takes a village to feed the hungry. The village includes many people and organizations. It is a tapestry of love and Christian caring. We deeply appreciate and thank the following:
Rupert United Methodist Church; Paul United Methodist Church; St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church; Trinity Lutheran Church; Smith’s Grocery Store; The LDS Bishop’s Warehouse; Rupert Elementary K Club Kids; Mini-Cassia Kiwana’s Club; Rupert Rotary Club; Minidoka Memorial Hospital Foundation; Kat Country; Stokes Grocery Store; Ridley’s Grocery Store; Idaho Food Bank; Chobani Of Twin Falls; Minidoka County Area Boy Scouts; Rupert Mail Carriers; Paul & Cathy Duncan; Jack & Mary Zarybnisky; The American Legion; Kentucky Fried Chicken; Harper’s Bread Company Last but certainly not least, are the many individuals who have volunteered many man hours operating the pantry.
About half of the volunteers that make the food pantry work.
A whole lot of bread to give away. Recipients are always ready to help set things up on pantry days. We appreciate them all.
